Caterpillar's Everywhere!

Easton loves Caterpillar's! He looks for them everytime we go outside. He says he loves them and they love him too. He let's them crawl all over him and even sneaks them into the house.

His daycare class is studying bugs and I wonder if this is what has sparked his interest. Yesterday when I picked him up from school he was wearing his T-shirt they made last week. The T-shirt says "We will always Bee Friends" and has Bee's all over it with each kids name beside a Bee. It was really cute and he was so proud so I took his picture when we got home. Of course he found him a caterpillar to pose for the picture too. Actually he has a pocket full of them. He was stuffing them into his pocket as fast as he could find them. I guess I need to start checking the laundry for caterpillars before washing from now on.

I have also included some pictures from another one of Easton's ball games. One of his friends from daycare played on the other team (The Sandgnats, they are green). While running the bases, they decided they would run together hand in hand. I thought it was too cute so I posted some pics below:

I don't know what he was thinking here!

Catching Up!

I have been so lazy about posting to my blog this past few weeks so it's time to catch up. I have posted lots of pics below from Easter, Easton playing T-Ball, and our trip to my parents lakehouse last weekend:

Easton had lots of fun dying his Easter eggs!

Easton all dressed up!

My all star!

Not so happy about being a ball player.

Batter up.

He thinks he owns the water when Papaw lets him drive.

Not bad for a days work. Easton was so excited about our days catch of catfish.

A Busy Week!

A busy week indeed. Last Wednesday I left for Gatlinburg for a work related meeting thru Sunday. Travis and Easton came up on Saturday with some friends of ours and we stayed until Wednesday on a mini vacation. Our friends have six, yes I said 6, children so we had a pretty big cabin, not to mention a noisy one. It was definately an experience. I felt like I was in an episode of John and Kate.
I really admire these friends of ours, six kids is a huge job. Easton had a blast!

On Sunday we went to Dollywood and the weather was fabulous and 80 degrees. Tuesday it snowed and we went for a scenic drive to Cade's Cove with a pitstop for a snowball fight along the way. Wednesday we headed back home.

Easton's Easter party at school was yesterday followed by evening T-ball practice. He was so excited about playing, now he seems to dislike everything about it. He says "I don't want to play, I just want to watch". He did a little better last night, but he's no all-star.

Here's some pictures of our week.

Easton loved driving me in the classic cars at Dollywood.

Soo Tired! Dollywood is exhausting!

Making Snowballs!

So COLD!

We got up close with lots of deer on our drive.

Easton is so proud of the Easter basket he made at school.

A HUGE Accomplishment!

Easton did it!!! He slept all night in his bed by himself. I did not sleep well, I was waiting on my 2:00 an wake-up call. But it never came. So then I was worried. He actually slept from about 9:30 last night to 7:30 this morning.

He was so proud of himself. He ran to find me right away with his famous phrase. He asked "Are you proud?" I said "Yes, I am so proud" and he asked "Can I have a prize?" Yes, we use bribery at our house. That's how we tackled potty training and I it works. We have a prize bucket that he can choose a reward out of when he does something worthy. This was a BIG accomplishment so he got a BIG reward. He is so into pirates now, so he got a pirate dress-up set. I have provided some pics of my little pirate below from our celebration this morning.

A Happy Pirate!

Arrgh Matey! He says he's going to make his Daddy walk the plank!

8 Years Later

Travis and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary yesterday. We dated 8 years before we were married so technically we've been together for 16 years. I won't say it's been smooth sailing, it's been a rough road. But I have to say it's been worth the ride. Travis and I are closer now than we have ever been, we can thank GOD for that. He's really worked on us this year and I am blessed for that.

He actually remembered this year!!! He even got me a card. We enjoyed a nice dinner at PF Changs alone. My parents took Easton to his T-ball practice. We rushed home after dinner to pick Easton up to end up letting him con us into spending the night with Papaw and Nana. This was a first, he is just getting to where he asks to stay. We usually don't let him stay over during the week since I have to work, Easton goes to daycare, and my mom has to work as well. But.... Travis and I took advantage of the time alone on a special day.

Easton called first thing this morning to invite me to breakfast with him and Papaw at Cracker Barrel, how could I turn down such a sweet invite. My dad and Easton have the most special bond I have ever seen. Easton played hookie from daycare and him and Papaw enjoyed a nice lazy, rainy day. I on the other hand had to go to work, but with this scary economy I am thankful to have a job.

My Weekend

I enjoyed a lazy weekend. Travis had planned a guy trip to Clinch River to do a little trout fishing and Papaw and Nana took Easton to the lake house. Wow! I was home alone.

I think this was a first. Usually Easton stays with my parents when I am out of town for work. I usually don't give up my weekends with Easton easily. Since I work full-time, I'm a little stingy with my weekends.

So.... Friday night I did nothing. I sit in the recliner and watched TV. I needed to be cleaning up the playroom, but I opted out of that. Saturday I went shopping. Shopping without a child is really the way to go. I went to Calhoun to the outlet where I ended up buying for Travis and Easton. I ended up at the mall where I met up with my cousin and friend. We ended the night at J.Alexanders for dinner and dessert at the Acropolis (chocolate cake of course). Yes... we went to a different location for dessert. It was a true girls night out.

Travis and I went to church Sunday morning and lunch out alone. Papaw and Nana were home pretty early with Easton. Just in time for him to get a nap and us to head back to church. He missed his mommy. I put him to bed in his own bed just like we have been doing. He snuck into my bed about 30 minutes later with a "mommy can I please sleep with you, I missed you". How could I say no to that. I know it was step backward, but you have to ask yourself what's really more important in life? Getting my child out of the bed with us or enjoying every minute of sweetness. I opted for the sweetness last night.

Here Goes!

So I'm a little delayed with technology I guess, or my friend Robin tells me I am. I always thought I was up-to-date, or I did until my friends gave me a real intervention. I didn't know I was supposed to have a blog! Then I was confronted by co-workers about not being on Facebook.

I have started my blog and joined Facebook all in the same week. The computer is exhausting me.

Just to catch everyone up on my life I have provided an update below:

Easton is really growing up. He had his tonsils and adenoids out in January and is feeling much better. If you know me well, you know he has slept with Mommy and Daddy since birth and we kicked him out 2 weeks ago. I'm also exhausted from that. It's like having a baby again, up at all hours to try and get him back to sleep in his bed. Travis and I are taking turns. Travis has helped me more than I ever expected. He was on duty last night and I actually got to sleep all night in my own bed. We are all in need of sleep. Tomorrow we are going to be lazy and probably do nothing.
